Welcome to The Gyrocopter Experience - Devon

Our Airfield

The Calidus is here! Devon is now one of only two locations in the UK where you can learn to fly gyros in a Cavalon, a Calidus or a MT! For more information see the section ?Introductory Flights?.

Operating from a private airstrip within a few minutes drive of Sidmouth, Honition & Lyme Regis, the training facility offers great flexibility. Exeter Airport, just a 5 minute flight away, is a very central South West base, offering circuits for those training to PPLG. Pilots may also enjoy visiting some of the many other local airstrips in the area, adding variety to the training within the syllabus. In addition, Nick also trains at Eaglescott Airfield in North Devon which is a fantastic all round facility with grass runways, club house and the wonderful Atlantic coast nearby.

Meet the Staff

Nick?is a qualified Flying Instructor and enthusiastic gyrocopter pilot and owner.? He has experienced many different forms of flying over the years. Learning first to fly fixed wing aircraft in 1988, he has since added night, IMC and multi engine ratings and also gained a seaplane rating in the USA. He has tried gliding, hang gliding, paragliding and free fall parachuting, but as far as?Nick is concerned gyros are definitely best of the lot!?

Our Calidus, in Lamborghini Yellow, is brand new. With the Rotax 914, the performance is breathtaking.

Our Cavalon is serial no. 002. It was the first Cavalon delivered by Rotorsport. We collected the machine on 1st May 2013, and are the most experienced Cavalon school in the UK.

To see the latest news, follow us on Facebook! www.facebook.com/flythisgyro

Or see http://www.rotorsport.org/page25.html for more info in the Cavalon.

We also fly the Rotorsport MT03.?It has the improved Rotor System II and is, possibly, the best variant of open tandem gyro.?

We can teach you to fly on your own aircraft providing it is a UK approved factory built machine.

Be among the first to fly the future!
