6 members of the extended family of Steve Ramsey (left) from Yorkshire came to The Gyrocopter Experience at Rufforth near York on Saturday 20th September 2008.  It was a glorious day, the sun was shining and it was smiles all round.

Steve, who holds a helicopter licence and has had some previous gyro experience, has been passionate about gyros for some time.  A few weeks ago, Steve met Phil and he had an initial assessment flight before booking up a weeks course later in October this year.  Full of enthusiasm, he went back to his famliy and they all agreed to spend an afternoon down at the airfield.  Some of the guys had previously flown a gyro with Roger Savage in Carlisle.  They booked a private "Gyrocopter Experience" event for the afternoon.

Neil Jekell,  Geoff Hawkshire, Alistair Staton and Ian Howson were first to take to the skies.  Each of them flew themselves around York.  It was glorious.

Also in the family was Ian's son Samuel who is nearly 14.  Samuel, sitting in the rear seat had a truly awesome time and couldn't wait to tell all his pals.

The oldest member of the familiy was 84 year old "Eddie the Eagle" Hawkshire.  He may have been the oldest, but he still enjoyed it like a teenager!

It was great to see the whole family having fun and of course everyone had their Gyrocopter Grin!
