Hi

Welcome to the October 2012 Gyrocopter Experience Newsletter with gyroplane news, updates and information from around the UK and around the world.

UK Gyroplane Championship Winners

What a great weekend the UK Gyroplane Championship turned out to be. Nine Gyros took part, another nine gyro pilots flew in to watch along with a large number of spectators who travelled by the more conventional methods!

This years winner was Peter Ford in his shiny yellow Calidus G-MAKE. Second place went to Gerry Speich in his Calidus G-CLDS and third place went to last years winner Phil Robinson in G-CERF.

All in all, the day was a lot of fun and provided a superb opportunity for pilots and enthusiasts to socialise. The enthusiastic crowd really enjoyed the entertainment as the gyros were put through their paces.

The competitions required very accurate flying and were a fantastic way to showcase what gyros are capable of.

A huge thank you to all of the organisers, especially Kai Barnett and Kai Maurer for a very enjoyable day.

The Flying Show NEC 1st and 2nd December

Is it really that time of year again? The nights are drawing in, which means that it?s nearly time for The Flying Show at the NEC.

Look forward to a bumper display of gyro goodies at this year?s show. Rotorsport will be there with their full line-up including the exciting new Cavalon. Magni will be releasing the new version of the M24 Orion. Of course the Gyrocopter Experience will be there with a new range of technical seminars to help keep your skills up to scratch. The British Rotorcraft Association will be there as well to encourage new members.

Put the dates in your diary now ? if only to take the opportunity to meet up with fellow gyro enthusiasts from around the country and buy yet another remote-control helicopter for the kids to break ......

CAA Safety Evenings at Salisbury and Devon

Another sure sign of winter is the release of the schedule for CAA / GASCO safety evenings. If you are a pilot (of any type of aircraft) and haven?t been to one of the seminars then they are well worth going along to.

You can find the programme in the recent issue of GASIL Here. Two of the evenings are held in areas where we have Gyrocopter Experience locations: Old Sarum (Salisbury) on 3rd November and in Devon on 14th March.

The New Gyrocopter Shop opens for business in York

The Gyrocopter Experience York has opened a new shop dedicated to selling Gyro related gifts, books, clithing and safety equipment. Two manequinns `Helga` and `Andre` show off the latest range of clothing and flying gear. The shelves are packed full with training material and essential flying guides

If York is too far to travel, remember all the items area available from the online shop on this website. Click Here. Orders can be sent anywhere in the world and are generally shipped within 24 hours.

Our Events Coordinator Kati was very keen to deliver a recent order to the The Seychelles personally, but had to settle for the very reliable Airmail postal service instead!

Hall of Fame

Congratulations go to Richard Churchill-Coleman, trained by Kevin Robinson (Algarve) and Steve Boxall (Salisbury). He has now completed all the training and passed the skills tests for his PPL(G). He has bought a Calidus G-ORCC which he is hoping to collect in a couple of weeks time. Go Richard Go!

Must Fly!
