Hi

Welcome to the April 2012 Gyrocopter Experience Newsletter with gyroplane news, updates and information from around the UK and around the world.

Meet us at Popham ? 5th May 2012

If you want to feast your eyes on gyros and meet fellow gyronauts then come on down to the Popham Microlight Trade Fair on the 5th May 2012. This year The Gyrocopter Experience will be changing the focus of its presence to being a fly-in event so that we can have as many gyros and pilots as possible there for the day. If you can, fly in. If you can?t, drive in. It?s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends at the start of the flying season and to stock up on flying goodies from all the trade stands!

Hot news from Devon!

Great news from Nick Wright, our Instructor in Devon. "We now have the option of training from Exeter airport" says Nick. "It?s a great location, with easy access from the M5, and it gives us the opportunity to offer training from an airfield with a tarmac runway. We?re really excited about this fantastic new facility as it complements our existing airfields perfectly." If you are interested in learning to fly in Devon or in experiencing the fantastic countryside from the air then you can contact Nick via devon@gyrocopterexperience.com or on 07734 055791.

Norman Surplus takes to the air again

We have recently heard that Norman Surplus has taken to the skies over Japan again as he prepares to restart his round-the-world gyrocopter flight. Norman?s satellite tracking system, which allows supporters from around the world to monitor his progress, is sponsored by The Gyrocopter Experience. Follow Norman?s progress at http://www.gyroxgoesglobal.com/

One day ? 3 first solos!

There must have been something in the air on Tuesday 27th March ? three Gyrocopter Experience students made their first solo gyro flights that day. Congratulations to Simon Rupp, training with Kevin Robinson in the Algarve, and to Paul Remfry and Nigel Thomas training with Steve Boxall at Salisbury. They are now proud members of the "First solo Hall of Fame".
