Hi

Welcome to the Autumn 2014 Gyrocopter Experience Newsletter with gyroplane news, updates and information from the UK and around the world.

New Gyroplane for sunny Algarve

The Gyrocopter Experience Algarve has taken delivery of a brand new shiny MTO Sport as a school Gyrocopter based in Portugal.

The photograph shows just how fantastic this aircraft looks against the clear waters of Portugal. "It's really nice when you take delivery of a brand new aircraft" says Kevin Robinson the instructor at the Algarve. "Our previous machine served us well and has gone back to the UK to be flown privately. We will be operating G-CIEJ right through the winter offering winter training sessions in the sun!"

Five go mad at Popham

Things have started with a ?bang? at our new location at Popham Airfield near Basingstoke. ?We had five new students start training during the first two weeks here? said Instructor Steve Boxall. ?Our new hangar is working really well, and even the weather has been kind to us and given us a great start.?

Steve also reports that one of the biggest attractions has been their new electric gyro tug. ?We bought an industrial mover from Messrs eBay and Co, (aircraft handling equipment for the gentry), and it has generated more interest than almost anything else we have done here ? people have been flying in to look at it!? The tug is pictured here with Oxford instructor Clive Rose who flew in for the day hoping it was like a giant Segway :-)

Steve would be delighted to show you around his new school facilities. He can be contacted on 07905 059789. Details can also view viewed at www.gyrocopterexperience.com/basingstoke

"The Flying Crocodile" Gyro school in Costa Rica joins The Gyrocopter Experience

In last year's November newsletter we included some photos of Costa Rica as our instructor friends Guido, Frank and Victor offer the most stunning gyro flying trips to Gyrocopter pilots from around the world.

We are delighted to announce that "The Flying Crocodile" has now joined the Gyrocopter Experience network of flying schools. As well as flying tours, they also offer the same advanced flying training available in our other schools. Now you can fly or train in Costa Rica and your training notes are integrated with your records from the UK.

Guido Scheidt, who runs The Flying Crocodile says "We share the same passion for gyros as the guys in the UK and we like their approach to training. We have delivered training courses together in the past and we enjoy working with them."

One of the great advantages is that we can organise special tours of Costa Rica for Gyrocopter Experience pilots. We are certain to be going out next year. If you're a gyro pilot and you want to go, just email us and we will put you on the list.

Ten Happy Magni Owners visit the factory in Milan

Ten very happy owners of Magni Gyroplanes went to visit the factory in Malpensa near Milan at the end of September. It was a chance to meet the people who actually built their machines as well as try out the latest models.

"What a blast!" says Alistair Mann, one of the proud owners of an M16C gyro. "I had visited the factory before I purchased my machine and was impressed at the time. It was really great to have time to look around and to be able to ask questions now that I have an understanding of how they work. It is a delightful place to see."

IAPGT launch improved website

The International Association of Professional Gyroplane Training (IAPGT) has just announced a major upgrade to the members area of its website www.iapgt.org.

The Association has been operating for just over 18 months and brings together gyroplane pilots and instructors from around the work to promote the standardisation of training and the sharing of best practice. The Association has over 650 members from over 60 countries.

The members area of the website has a complete set of training material and electronic resources to help everyone who is involved in the Gyroplane community to keep up with the latest developments in training.

We are proud to say that all Gyrocopter Experience Instructors are operating to these latest safety and training standards.

Last few places: One day instructor workshop

There are just a few spaces left on this year's "I might want to be Gyrocopter Instructor" workshop held in York on Saturday 11th October. This is a great one-day interactive seminar held by Phil Harwood which helps you assess if the thoughts that you have to become an instructor are just a pipe-dream or whether it is something that could turn into a reality.

This workshop is all about the "business" side of running your very own flying school and presents the resources and effort required to have what we know as the "best job in the world".

The workshop costs ?99 per person and requires pre-booking. Please call Kati on 0845 643 9476 or book via our online shop here

The Flying Show moves to Telford

This year "The Flying Show" is moving from its previous location at the NEC Birmingham to "The International Centre" at Telford. The dates are also a week earlier than than in previous years - the 22nd and 23rd November.

The Flying Show is THE exhibition in the UK for light sport aircraft and Gyrocopters will be out in force. Our inside information tells us that the Gyrocopter stands will be an all-new design and there are at least a couple of surprises. We will certainly be there to enthuse about Gyros to one and all.

Full details can be obtained from www.theflyingshow.co.uk - put the dates in your diary. We look forward to seeing you there.

Must Fly!
